Super six Man City graduates are model evidence of Jason Wilcox's talents amid Man United interest
Manchester United are reportedly interested in appointing Southampton director of football Jason Wilcox.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are looking to transform United's football operations with Omar Berrada already appointed as their new CEO after leaving Manchester City. The club are also looking to appoint highly-rated director of football Dan Ashworth from Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
And the Athletic reports that Wilcox is of interest at Old Trafford, with the former Manchester City academy director seen as a potential "key figure" in the club’s new sporting hierarchy.
"It’s hugely inspiring," Wilcox told City's website back in February 2023 when asked about some of the players who came through the ranks. "People will say there’s no pathway at Manchester City but I would say it’s a huge challenge for any young player to come through to a Premier League side at 18/19, whether you’re at the bottom or the top it’s extremely difficult.

"The kids are getting a lot of opportunity. They train with our first team almost every day, alongside the best manager in the world and best players in the world. With Phil, Cole and Rico, they are seeing it’s within touching distance. One thing is for sure, you don’t stay around our first team if you’re not a good guy. We push the players up to the first team environment who we feel are the right type of person and won’t let the academy down."
