Super League recruitment window opens for 2023

The recruitment window is officially open for Super League players for the 2023 season.

May 1 marks the first day of the transfer window in Super League. This means clubs can now speak to players who are off-contract for the 2023 campaign for a potential move.

There are some big names that are still without a contract for the 2023 season and beyond. Warrington’s Stefan Ratchford is one of many who are yet to confirm their future beyond 2022. The full-back signed a contract extension in February 2020 on a deal that lasted until the end of 2022. Warrington team-mates Gareth Widdop, Mike Cooper and Josh Charnley are others at the club without a contract for 2023.

Wigan’s Bevan French could be a potential target for Super League clubs. The former NRL man has found himself on the wing under Matt Peet. In-form Jai Field has made the full-back position his own in 2022. French signed a one-year extension for 2022, but his future beyond is yet to be confirmed.

Jake Trueman is yet to sign for 2023 at Castleford, and has recently been linked with a move to the MKM Stadium with Hull.

Hull captain Luke Gale only signed a one-year deal with the club for 2022. Leeds hooker Brad Dwyer is without a club for 2023 and could be a key capture for rival clubs, with more than 200 games worth of experience. Hull KR’s Matt Parcell has been rumoured with a move back to Australia.

St Helens centre Konrad Hurrell has been linked with a move to the NRL for the 2023 season.
