Super League disciplinary records analysed with Leeds Rhinos among clampdown strugglers

Rugby league's disciplinary clampdown has dominated the agenda at the start of the 2022 Super League season.

An unprecedented number of suspensions have been handed out across Super League by the match review panel and the tribunal that deals with serious cases.

Paul Rowley's side have managed to keep off the match review panel's radar, one round aside.

The Red Devils were hit with two charges following their defeat at Hull FC but only Dan Sarginson served a suspension after Ryan Brierley saw his one-match ban overturned.

Since Albert Vete picked up a two-match ban for a tackle that injured Iain Thornley in round one, Rovers have largely managed to stay out of trouble.

Korbin Sims was charged with dangerous contact the following week but he escaped a ban.

The French club have received five charges but only two resulted in suspensions.

Joseph Paulo - charged three times in all - received a two-game ban for dangerous contact in Toulouse's defeat at Salford, while Ellis Robson missed the win over St Helens after being found guilty of a crusher tackle the previous week.

After Jacob Miller effectively got off with a warning for contact with the referee in round one, Wakefield have picked up two bans.

Reece Lyne sat out three games for dangerous contact and Max Jowitt served a two-match suspension for going in with his knees as Leeds Rhinos centre Harry Newman touched down.

Matt Peet's side managed to avoid any charges in the opening four rounds but did lose two men after a fiery clash against Catalans
