• Team to also camp for 15 days in Australia

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), yesterday, disclosed that the Super Falcons will open their final training camp at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, on June 29 in preparation for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

The women’s soccer festival will hold from July 20 to August 20, 2023.

According to Director of Media/Communications, NFF, Ademola Olajire, Coach Randy Waldrum’s tutored side are being primed to be in their best possible condition for the World Cup.

“The FIFA Women’s World Cup will kick off next month and the Nigerian team will start their final preparation on June 29. There will be a final send-forth dinner for them on July 1 before they travel on July 2.

“They will also have a 15-day final camping programme in Australia before the tournament starts,” he said.

The Super Falcons will face co-hosts, Australia, Olympic champions, Canada and debutants, Republic of Ireland, in Group A at the World Cup.

The nine-time African champions’ first match will be against Canada on July 21 before they face Australia on July 27. They will end their group matches against the Republic of Ireland on July 31.
