Sundowns' Mokwena full of praise for 'consistent' Mudau

Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rhulani Mokwena highlighted the importance of Sunday's CAF Champions League game and described Khuliso Mudau as a talented player.  

Sundowns come up against Seychelles side La Passe in the CAF Champions League at Loftus Versfeld.

Sundowns are looking to win the prestigious trophy for the first time since 2016.

"He is a difficult player to manage in training because you got to stimulate him. He is so talented, it is the story of geniuses," Mokwena told reporters.  

After joining the Brazilians almost two years ago, Mudau has become a regular fixture in the 'Downs starting XI as he has featured in eight out of the nine games in the DStv Premiership so far.

Mokwena was full of praise for Mudau's desire to improve.

"When he says he wants to come here to learn and improve when he is very good already, it is very difficult," said Mokwena.

"It is like students, who are in a maths class in Grade 10, who already know algebra and all these other things taught in Matric, he is that type of player. 

"If you ask me, if there is a player who has been extremely consistent with his performances, it has been him."  

Mokwena added the importance of having a good support system, which no doubt played a huge part into Mudua's attitude.  

"He is also a very good human being. Mudau has very good human qualities and it is reflected by his humble family," said Mokwena.

"When you meet his mother, you meet a very humble woman who raised her son as a single parent but did so much to make sure the child was raised with the right values and Mudau carries that on and off the pitch."
