Sundowns booze saga: Jali, Mbule agent breaks silence

The CEO of Prosport International, Mike Makaab, who is the representative of Mamelodi Sundowns midfield duo Andile Jali and Sipho Mbule, has broken his silence regarding alleged off-field controversies involving both players.

According to a TimesLIVE report last week, Jali, 32, and Mbule, 24, were the players identified to have transgressed club policy by arriving to training at Chloorkop under the influence alcohol, forcing the Sundowns management to sideline both players.

Jali has since returned to his hometown of Matatiele in the Eastern Cape and has not featured for the club since the start of February.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Mbule tasted his first minutes in a month during Downs' 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch in the DStv Premiership.

Makaab emphasised that the situation is nobody's fault and that both parties have been working to find a solution.

"My responsible comment was that until such time that the club has officially made a statement and has officially involved me in that statement, I can't comment," he said on Gagasi FM.

"All I'm going to comment about is what I've heard and what I've read.

"Yes, I have (spoken to Mbule and Jali) and both players have elected to say very little, to say there has been one or two issues, but those issues have been sorted out.

"So, I will address it, but it will be done in the right forum and once I've had that discussion with the football club and the players.

"If I feel there's anything I need to comment on, I will. If not, I'll focus on the way forward.
