Summer transfer window key dates for Nottingham Forest and Premier League rivals
It will almost certainly be a busy summer for Steve Cooper and Nottingham Forest.
The Reds will compete in the Premier League for the first time in 23 years after beating Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-off final, and plans are now well and truly underway to ensure they have a squad capable of competing in England's top-flight.
Boss Cooper will benefit from retaining several of his key players - Brennan Johnson and Joe Worrall have both been the subject of intense transfer speculation in previous windows - but many more of last season's promotion-winning squad will be absent after returning to their parent clubs after completing loan spells.
James Garner (Manchester United), Max Lowe (Sheffield United), Djed Spence (Middlesbrough), Philip Zinckernagel (Watford) and Keinan Davis (Aston Villa) have all returned to their permanent clubs having been on Trentside on temporary deals; reports suggest the Reds could look to sign at least a couple of them permanently, however.
The 'silly season' is well and truly underway with Cooper being linked with moves for different players of varying calibre and profile.
Forest have just under three months to complete all of their transfer business.
The Premier League has confirmed that the 2022 summer transfer window will open on , and will close at 11pm UK time on . This is in line with other European leagues.
