Sue Gray report: Boris Johnson braces for 'critical' Partygate dossier - live updates

Boris Johnson is facing growing pressure as Sue Gray's full report into Downing Street parties is set to be released today.

Ms Gray was previously stopped from publishing her dossier due to a Metropolitan Police investigation into Partygate. However, she is now set to release the long-awaited report into Whitehall parties during lockdown after the Met finished its probe, issuing more than 100 fines.

The Prime Minister will face a grilling by MPs at Prime Minister's Questions at midday and is expected to make a statement about the report this afternoon. Mr Johnson and Rishi Sunak were both fined for attending the PM's Downing Street birthday bash in June 2020.

Later on Wednesday, he will stage a press conference in Downing Street and address the 1922 Committee of backbench Tory MPs who will have to decide whether the findings are sufficiently serious to warrant a push to oust him.

The environment secretary told Times Radio: “That boundary between what was acceptable and what wasn’t got blurred and that was a mistake and Sue Gray highlighted that in her first interim report and I think she is almost certainly going to say more about that when her final report comes out."

Earlier this week, two new photographs apparently depicting separate gatherings at Downing Street were published. Images obtained by
