Strictly Come Dancing star apologises for mix-up during It Takes Two broadcast

Strictly Come Dancing's Janette Manrara had to apologise to viewers after an unexpected on-air mistake during the BBC spin-off show, It Takes Two.

The 41-year-old was providing insights into the upcoming dances for Saturday's show when she made a slip-up while discussing this year's Strictly Christmas special.

Speaking directly to viewers, she said: "Now, for the last two weeks, we've been revealing who is taking part in this year's Strictly Christmas special."

She listed participants, including Josh Widdicombe, Tayce, Vogue Williams, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Tamzin Outhwaite, adding that Outhwaite would be dancing to a song playing in the background, which she identified as K. D Lang's version of Hallelujah.

However, the version playing was not the one she referred to, prompting her to quickly correct herself and apologise, saying: "So sorry, Kelly Clarkson."

She then swiftly moved on to another segment. This isn't the first time Janette has had an on-air blunder; back in June, her baby monitor went off while she was presenting Morning Live with co-host Gethin Jones, reports the Express.

Gethin Jones interrupted a live TV segment when he heard an unexpected sound, saying: "Hang on a minute, hang on a minute. Let's stop the baby monitor on Janette's phone before we carry on."

He playfully teased further: "Stop trying to hide it. She opened the WhatsApp group," while a sheepish Janette Manrara apologised: "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. She's [her daughter, Lyra] okay, it's fine."

The amusing incident was then shared on Morning Live's Instagram with the caption: "When live TV doesn't always go to plan!!! #LiveTV #MumGoals." (sic)
