Strictly Come Dancing's Zara McDermott flaunts abs and says 'I may burst' as she shares glimpse of training regime

Zara McDermott has showed off her gym-honed figure and given fans an insight into her preparation ahead of appearing on Strictly Come Dancing. It was revealed last week that the reality TV star is amongst the 15 celebrities set to join the 2023 run of the hits BBC One dance contest.

Zara, 26, is the first ever Love Island contestant to compete in the dancing competition after she appeared on the 2018 summer series of the ITV dating show. Nowadays, Zara is a documentary presenter for BBC Three, showcasing hard-hitting topics that inspire conversation and educate young people.

Her first documentary, Revenge Porn, came after the model was told that naked photos of her were circulating worldwide after leaving Love Island. The TV star spoke about her experience in her own documentary to raise awareness of the damaging effects.

Ahead of appearing on Strictly alongside the likes of EastEnders' Bobby Brazier, showbiz legend Les Dennis and Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas, Zara has now shared her excitement with her fans.

Taking to her Instagram page, the 26-year-old posted a video to her 1.7 million followers. The caption said: "STRICTLY 2023 LETS GO!!! I cannot thank you all enough… and I can’t even contain my excitement!!! I may burst!!!!! p.s. who do you think my dance partner is going to be? And I also wonder which dance I’m going to enjoy most?!."

Speaking in the video, Zara said: "Hello everyone. Obviously the news is out that I'm going to be on Strictly Come Dancing this year. I honestly wasn't expecting such an incredible, overwhelming reaction. This is probably one of the biggest things I will ever do in my entire life.
