Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Borthwick hints EastEnders co-star could sign up for show

Strictly Come Dancing sensation Jamie Borthwick wowed the judges with his powerful Paso Doble alongside professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas on Saturday night, securing a near-perfect score of 39.

This has landed up a top spot on the leaderboard alongside Gladiator star Montell Douglas. The actor's performance not only captivated the judges but also had some of his EastEnders co-stars, including Tanya Franks and Adam Woodyatt, who were seen cheering in the audience.

During It Takes Two on Wednesday night, Janette Manrara remarked: "You had some EastEnders cast members in the audience, Tanya Franks, and Adam Woodyatt. They were there on Saturday. What did Adam think of the dance and do you think he'll ever do Strictly?"

Adam Woodyatt, famed for his role as Ian Beale on the BBC soap and no stranger to reality TV after his stint on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2021, might just be persuaded to join Strictly, according to Jamie.

Jamie responded: "You know what? I think he could be swayed to do Strictly. He really enjoyed it on Saturday and he's been loads of times before to support other people. I think yeah, if you gave him a little push he would be Strictly."

The Strictly star shared that his EastEnders colleagues felt immense pride seeing him perform with Michelle, reports the Mirror.

BBC audiences have witnessed numerous soap stars take to the Strictly dance floor over the years, such as Maisie Smith, James Bye, Bobby Brazier, and Emma Barton.

This coming weekend, Jamie and Michelle are set to perform an American Smooth Foxtrot to the iconic Addams Family theme for the show's Halloween special, with costumes inspired by the sibling pair Wednesday and Pugsley Addams.
