Strictly 2022 launch show: Live updates as celebrity pairings confirmed

Strictly Come Dancing is officially here. The 2022 series kicks off with the launch show on Friday, September 23.

Starting on BBC One at 7pm, the pre-recorded programme will welcome hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman back to the ballroom, alongside judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Head Judge Shirley Ballas.

Strictly Come Dancing's launch show will see the Strictly class of 2022 meet their professional partners for the very first time. It should also offer a first glimpse of the celebrity line-up in action as they take to the stage for a group number.

The launch show, which was delayed following the death of the Queen, will be followed by the live shows on Saturday, September 24, with the new pairings trying to impress the juding panel for the very first time.
