Stoke City 1-1 Swansea City: Harry Darling redeems himself to rescue point for visitors
Swansea City remain unbeaten under interim boss Alan Sheehan after Harry Darling's late header rescued a hard-earned point against Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium.
Daniel Johnson's second-half penalty initially looked enough to hand the managerless hosts victory, before Darling rose to head home a pinpoint Matt Grimes corner for his second goal of the season.
As was the case against Rotherham United, this was a pretty scruffy performance from the Swans, and there remains plenty of work ahead for the new boss, whoever that may eventually be.
Indeed, Swansea are unquestionably still a club marauding their way through choppy waters at the moment, although perhaps they'll take a certain degree of comfort in the fact they clearly aren't the only ones.
After succumbing to a fourth straight defeat, Stoke decided to part with boss Alex Neil at the weekend.
Paul Gallagher was the man tasked with overseeing the hosts, the second temporary boss to face Swansea's own caretaker coach Sheehan in four days, and the latest contender perhaps bidding to take the Irishman's title as the division's best interim manager.
Indeed, anyone foolish enough to doubt the significance and prestige of the occasion clearly didn't witness the elaborate pre-match light show at the Bet365 Stadium. A touch of surreal pizzaz in the Potteries that some more pessimistic critics will, of course, claim was lightyears away from the contest that was served up to the 18,550 supporters.
In all seriousness, though. Sheehan's ability to compete on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke, whilst appreciated, is unlikely to have much of an impact on the club's manager search, with Andy Coleman's intentions seemingly holding about as much mystery of an episode of Columbo.
