Stock car racer Jacob Bromley, from Canterbury, collects trophy after winning Trackstar National Points Championship for third time in four years

Jacob Bromley picked up the major piece of silverware at the recent Trackstar Awards night when he won the National Points Championship in the formula.

Regarded as one of the toughest formulas on the short ovals, 21-year-old salesman Bromley, from Canterbury, had another exceptional season to win the championship for the

third time in the last four years.

It has been an incredible run for the driver, who raced from places all over the UK, from Lochgelly in Scotland to Tullyroan in Northern Ireland to Aldershot in the south east in 1300 Stock Cars in 2022.

The battle was probably Bromley’s hardest to win and came down to the final race of the season which took place at King’s Lynn where Bromley kept the advantage he had going into the last event from hard-charging former 2L stock car world champion Carl Waterfield and national champion Jake Banwell.

Winning the National Points Championship means Bromley gets to paint his roof silver once again for the 2023 season.

But it was so close to being gold for him, though, when he was within six inches of winning the World Final, with London’s Lee Pearce just pipping him to the line.
