Stirling Albion youth movement continues as trio sign up for January revamp

A busy January window for Stirling Albion has continued as the club announced the signature of three new additions to the end of the season.

It's a continuation of the youth movement through the club, with former Celtic youth captain MacKenzie Carse the final addition to a group with impressive pedigree.

The 21-year-old's capture was officially announced earlier this morning after he departed a stint with Northern Irish Premiership side Coleraine and has racked up more than 50 appearances for the young Hoops, including in the UEFA Youth League.

Stirling boss Alan Maybury revealed his delight in Carse's capture - and said they had won out amidst significant interest for the midfielder.

Maybury told the club's website: “MacKenzie is a top midfielder who came through Celtic’s Academy to captain their B team.

“He has played a lot of games for a young player and we are excited he has chosen to come to Stirling as there was a lot of clubs interested in him. I look forward to working with him at Stirling Albion."

The pen ink has been heavily used in the last 24 hours at Forthbank, with Carse's arrival quickly following on the back of the signing to the end of the season of ex-Alloa full back Euan Deveney.

Deveney, 22, had impressed as a trialist in the Binos' last two matches against Peterhead and Bonnyrigg Rose and also boasts time at clubs including Falkirk, Clyde and a strong spell at Airdrieonians.

Maybury continued: “Euan has featured as a trialist in the last couple of games.

"For a young player, he has good experience, mainly at a higher level, and his versatility, quality and attitude we feel will be an asset in the second half of the season.
