Stirling Albion boss hopes for Binos revenge on Falkirk after Bairns "battering"

It’s a big test for Stirling Albion as they kick off the second round of League One games attempting to hand Falkirk their first defeat of the season.

The Binos host their Forth Valley neighbours at Forthbank tomorrow (Saturday), with a big crowd expected after both sides have enjoyed strong starts to their respective seasons.

For Stirling, they sit firmly in mid-table following an excellent away win in Dumfries last time out and Falkirk have got off to a belting start – sitting joint top of the table with Hamilton in their effort to finally climb out of the third-tier.

The sides’ first meeting was a bruising experience for the Binos, falling three goals down in a difficult first half as the Bairns handed Stirling their first defeat of the league campaign.

Albion had the week off for the international break, while Falkirk kept up the momentum with a 1-0 home win over Championship side Queen’s Park in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

Stirling manager Darren Young knows his side will be up against it, but insists his charges have learned from the match at Falkirk Stadium.

He said: “The first time around, they gave us a battering; we hold our hands up and we will learn from that match and we know what to expect from them.

“They are still a quality team and they create lots of chances with the way they play, but we have created chances in our match so far as well and their keeper had to make two outstanding saves at 1-0 in the last game.

“From our point of view, we will have a game plan which will make ourselves hard to beat and we want to keep up our home record in the league.

“It should be a good game and looks like it will be a good crowd on the day as well, I believe hospitality is sold out for the match which is good.”
