Stirling Albion boss Darren Young says 'there will be no complacency' as his side face crunch match to beat the drop

It’s crunch time for Stirling Albion in their bid to beat the drop back in to League Two when they visit the capital tomorrow.

The Forthbank outfit take on basement boys Edinburgh City at Meadowbank knowing that all three points are pivotal in the attempt to secure another season of League One football.

Darren Young’s troops will hope to build on last weekend’s point earned against fellow strugglers Queen of the South. The stalemate, coupled with a narrow win for Annan Athletic against tomorrow’s hosts last weekend means that the Binos sit in the dreaded play-off spot – two points adrift of Annan and three behind Queens.

That means that a win for Stirling against the Citizens could put them in a position to go above the Galabankies ahead of that bumper last-day fixture, with Annan hosting unbeaten Falkirk in a tricky encounter.

Following last Saturday’s goalless draw, Stirling gaffer Young was adamant that his squad are well aware of the task that lies ahead of them.

He told the Observer: “There will be no complacency for next week on our side, Edinburgh gave us a tough game when they played us here earlier in the season even after having a man sent off, so we need to go there in a positive frame of mind. We need to secure that clean sheet to begin and go from there, so we’ll will prepare as best we can for the test and look to get that win.”

Stirling have maintained a stellar record against the capital side so far this campaign. In their last three meetings this season, Albion have recorded three wins. The first encounter, last August, saw Stirling come out on top thanks to a Cammy Clark strike to hand them a narrow 1-0 win at Forthbank.

When the sides met in December, it was Darren Young’s troops who claimed the spoils
