Steven Gerrard Voted The Greatest Premier League Midfielder Ahead Of Frank Lampard And Paul Scholes

The 41-year-old former England midfielder lifted a Champions League, a UEFA Cup, two FA Cups and three League Cups during a remarkable spell at Anfield.

Gerrard, who scored 186 times in 710 appearances for Liverpool, missed out on a Premier League title before his exit from the Reds in 2015.

SPORTbible took to Twitter and posted a readers’ poll asking for fans to finally settle the heated debate surrounding Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard.

With 30,759 votes cast, Gerrard took home the lion’s share of the vote and secured victory in our poll with 43.8 per cent of the vote.

Scholes, who lifted 25 trophies during a legendary career at Old Trafford, came second in the poll with 28.7 per cent of the vote.

Lampard, whose predatory goalscoring finishing fired him to the top of Chelsea’s record goalscorers, came a distant third after only managing 18 per cent of the vote.

“We all had our own attributes, it’s just too hard. And I like both of them as lads, they were amazing players.
