Steven Gerrard sends 'excited' Liverpool message and makes Real Madrid prediction

Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has delivered a message to Liverpool ahead of the Champions League final.

It has been a busy few days for Gerrard as he looks to get his transfer business done early. Villa confirmed a permanent move for Philippe Coutinho earlier this month and announced a further deal for Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara, a day after the league season had ended.

The Villa boss continued his transfer spree on Thursday, with the club confirming that they had reached an agreement for Sevilla defender Diego Carlos. However, it appears that Gerrard may be taking a slight break from Villa’s hectic recruitment drive.

With Liverpool preparing to take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday, Gerrard delivered a message to the club’s supporters on social media. The 41-year-old’s deep connection with Liverpool is well-known, having become one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players during his career.

Sitting in the Stade de France while Jurgen Klopp’s side were undergoing their preparations, he said on Liverpool’s Twitter account: “Hello everyone, I’m just here in Paris for the final. The players are all training in the background, preparing. Game day, minus one. You can feel the atmosphere building.

“I’d like to wish everyone at Liverpool the best of luck and I hope they get the outcome that everyone wants. Getting excited for the game and the fans are building up nicely outside the stadium. Hopefully it will be a fantastic game and I predict a 2-0 Liverpool win.”
