Steve Clarke admits 'significant' Scotland injury doubts but refuses to name them

Steve Clarke admits Scotland have “significant” injury doubts ahead of their game against Armenia.

The Scots jet out to Yerevan for the final part of their Nations League triple header.

A 2-0 win over the Armenians at Hampden last week was followed up with a bruising 3-0 defeat to Ireland in Dublin Saturday with Scotland’s display heavily criticised.

Clarke made six changes to his side last midweek before a further two at the weekend, and he’s now confirmed there’s likely to be more with some members of his squad now doubts.

The Scotland boss was slightly late arriving at his pre-match press conference, and explained that it was due to fitness concerns, but remained tight-lipped on who specifically was struggling.

Scott McTominay required early treatment after appearing to catch his studs in the rug against Ireland, while Scott McKenna hobbled off to be replaced by John Souttar in the second half.

“There will be some rotation,” said Clarke.

"We have some significant doubts, that's why I am a bit late here.

"We will assess before we travel but we have significant injuries that we have to deal with. No names."

Despite saying post-match in Dublin that say would more on the damaging defeat against Stephen Kenny's side, Clarke opted not to expand, preferring to keep what was said afterwards in-house.

He added: "I will keep that between myself and my players.

"Obviously disappointing on Saturday. We will focus on the next game, Armenia.

"As we always do we will get together as a group, speak about things, show some things on video and try to get them on the training pitch and moving again for the next game."
