Steve Bruce reveals what he told the fourth official after 'awful' decisions

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Bruce has revealed what he told fourth official Will Finnie after Nottingham Forest's second goal at the City Ground.

Baggies had already fallen behind to a Brennan Johnson penalty and seen wing-back Darnell Furlong sent off in the lead up for a second bookable offence before Forest doubled their advantage within the space of ten minutes to effectively end the match as a contest. While there were no complaints to be had about the way in which Ryan Yates rised almost unmarked to power a header past David Button, the frustration come moments before in the lead up to a corner being given in the first place.

A throw-in was awarded immediately before the eventual corner was awarded after, which the aide of replays, clearly came off of Djed Spence's knee and should have been awarded the other way to the visitors. Albion then switched off to concede an unnecessary corner that James Garner delivered onto the head of Yates.

"I said to the fourth official, look, they need to do their jobs on a big night like tonight," Bruce said. "For both teams, they need to do their jobs and do it properly and you have to get, if you're going to overturn things, you have to be 100% right and when the linesman's 10 yards away, why don't you just go with the linesman?

"And the bad thing for us is that the linesman’s stuck his flag up and we’ve all stopped so it’s give them a corner which they’ve scored from."
