Stephen Robinson insists Celtic 'disappointment' has not ended St Mirren's Euro dream in defiant stance

Stephen Robinson admits it isn't often he comes away from a draw against champions Celtic "disappointed".

But the Buddies boss isn't giving up hopes of European football after a late leveller from the champions. Saints have been one of the few thorns in the side of Ange Postecoglou's men this campaign after inflicting their only league defeat in September, that was before Michael Beale's Rangers won 3-0 in the derby last weekend. Curtis Main, who had previously netted at Celtic Park this season hit a deadly brace past Joe Hart to spark concern across Parkhead.

Kyogo Furuhashi and Callum McGregor roared back to cancel out the Buddies advantage but it means two games without a win for the Scottish champions while the Paisley outfit have Pittodrie in midweek before hosting Rangers on the final day of the season. Robinson insists the dream of European football isn't out of the question and left the east end of Glasgow wanting more.

He told BBC Sportsound: "It's not often you come to Celtic Park and say you're disappointed with a point. It shows we've come a long way.

"We had some great opportunities and limited Celtic to half chances, which they are always going to create with their quality. Curtis Main scored two good goals and went close with the head twice, but I've got nothing but praise for him and Greg Kiltie all day.

"We are still in the race for Europe with two games to go. It is a fantastic achievement for everybody at this football club."
