Stephanie Meadow and Leona Maguire inside top 30 as Jasmine Suwannapura leads in Kuala Lumpur

Stephanie Meadow and Leona Maguire sit inside the top 30 at the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur, while Jasmine Suwannapura enjoys the lead at the half-way stage.

Meadow is best placed of the Irish duo, sitting in a share of 24th place on five under, while Maguire is a shot further back on four under par ahead of the weekend action in Malaysia.

There were three birdies and a solitary bogey for Meadow as she added a 70 to her opening round 69, while Maguire posted six birdies and three bogeys as she signed for 69.

But both Irish golfers are a fair distance off challenging over the weekend as they sit seven and eight shots respectively behind the Thai leader.

Suwannapura sits on 12 under par, one shot clear of American Rose Zhang, while Celine Boutier from France is in a tie for third alongside Peiyun Chien from Taiwan and Australia's Hannah Green on ten under par.
