State pensioners urged to check their eligibility for Pension Credit to avoid missing out this winter

Manchester residents who are of state pension age (66 and over) are being urged to check if they are eligible to claim Pension Credit before the 21 December deadline.

Being eligible for Pension Credit gives you access to other support this winter, such as the Winter Fuel Payment, the Warm House Discount, social tariffs, cheaper broadband, free TV licences and lower water bills.

So, if you are of state pension age or know someone who is, help them to check their eligibility for Pension Credit, so no one is missing out on the essential support they may be entitled to this winter.

To check if you, a loved one, or a friend are eligible for Pension Credit, you can simply contact the charity Independent Age for a free benefits check by calling 0800 319 6789. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm.

Before calling Independent Age for advice about Pension Credit, you’ll need to have your National Insurance number; information about your income, including your pensions; details of your savings and investments (if any); and your bank account details to hand.
