STAT ATTACK | Records tumble after King Keshav leads groundbreaking victory in Durban

South Africa's rather massive 220-run win against Bangladesh at Kingsmead was a result that looked unlikely after the teams had completed their first innings.

SA needed less than an hour on day five to roll the visitors for 53, and here are some weird and wacky stats and facts to emerge from the first Test against Bangladesh:

- First five-wicket haul for Keshav Maharaj at Kingsmead. It's also the first by a SA spinner at the ground post-isolation and it was Maharaj's eighth in 41 Tests.

- Dean Elgar's first Test win at the ground in five attempts since his first game here in 2015. He has been on the losing side three times with one draw.

- First time spinners have taken all 10 wickets at Kingsmead since 1950 when Tufty Mann (3/31) and Hugh Tayfield (7/23) did so against Australia. On that occasion 72 years ago, SA ended up on the losing side when Australia chased down 336 with five wickets in hand

- SA's second win against Asian opposition at Kingsmead since 2002. After they beat Pakistan by 10 wickets, they only succeeded in beating India in 2013, followed by this recent result.

- Maharaj now has 19 wickets at Kingsmead in three games. It's the sixth-highest at the ground.

- A total of 20 wickets that fell to spin out of the 40 wickets that were taken in the game. 14 of them fell to Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer

- There were 178 overs of spin bowled by spin in the Test, equaling the post-isolation record set by Sri Lanka and South Africa at Newlands in 1998.

- The win by 220 runs SA's second-biggest win at the ground in terms of runs. SA's biggest win from a run perspective was the 328-run crushing of India in 1996.
