Starfield: Huge character creator allows players to customise almost everything

Starfield’s character creator promises to be one of the deepest in gaming when the Xbox exclusive finally launches.

The game’s suite was shown off during the Xbox and Bethesda showcase, with the game’s director, Todd Howard, outlining how this character creator is the studio’s “most flexible yet”.

Pretty much every single thing about your character can be customised, too, right down to how they walk, as per Gamespot.

The website has done a deep dive into the creation suite and has revealed exactly how it is set to work when players get their hands on it.

You can select from a list of character backgrounds right at the start of the game and they will give your character three starting skills.

One such skill would be dealing more damage against certain types of enemies, while another would be adding a persuasiveness to each speaking interaction.

Players can also set three traits in addition to their skills but they’re optional; they offer both advantages and disadvantages. The Starter Home trait gives players a house “on a peaceful little moon” but comes with a mortgage payment of $50,000.

Starfield has skill trees, too: Physical, Social, Combat, Science, and Tech. Skills can be ranked up by completing associated challenges, as one would expect.

Add into that the fact that Starfield has base building and space combat and you’ve got a recipe for an absolutely immense RPG among the stars.

There will be over 1,000 planets within the game that players can explore, too, so don’t expect this game to be completed quickly!

This is shaping up to be one of the very best RPGs on the market, provided Bethesda can deliver on their lofty promises.
