The mood at Rangers is low after back to back derby games against Celtic.

Danny Rohl's men tossed away a two-goal against their rivals in the Premiership two weeks ago followed by a penalty shoot-out defeat in the Scottish Cup quarter final seven days later.

The German has to pick his troops up ahead of the short trip to Paisley to take on St Mirren.

And a look at their last clash in Paisley should at least offer a bit of perspective.

Back in August, Findlay Curtis netted to earn Rangers a 1-1 draw but it meant a worst start in 36 years for the Ibrox side.

Russell Martin was axed a couple of months later and Rohl has at least hauled them back into the title race. Victory today would close the gap on leaders Hearts to three points, and one to Celtic.

So it's still all to play for against the managerless Buddies who are without a win in five.
