St Johnstone's Cammy MacPherson and Dan Phillips both 50/50 to make Ross County game, Callum Davidson says

Cammy MacPherson was back on the training pitch this week.

But manager Callum Davidson has said both the 24-year-old and midfield partner Dan Phillips are in the 50/50 category for this weekend’s game against Ross County.

Davidson said: “Cammy trained on Wednesday and hopefully there is no reaction.

“Dan was struggling on Saturday and played through pain for us. He jarred his ankle when he was away on international duty and it was still a little tender.

“The two of them are probably 50/50 for Saturday. We will need to see how they end up on Friday and if they are 100 per cent ready to go. We want to be getting Cammy and Dan regular games.

“We have Melker Hallberg in there, David Wotherspoon and Graham Carey too. There are a lot of positives in there for me but it is just making sure they all stay fit.

“The subs on Saturday made a difference when they came on. They gave a lot to the team.”

One of those subs who made an impact was Jamie Murphy.

“He has experience and know-how,” Davidson said. “In the last two or three weeks I’ve seen a real determination in him and he was very close to starting against Aberdeen.

“He might well start against Ross County.”

Young Saints midfielder Alex Ferguson, meanwhile, has signed a new deal until the summer of 2025.
