Springboks and Wallabies on Ireland's autumn list

Ireland will welcome world champions South Africa, Fiji and Australia to Dublin for the Autumn Nations Series later this year.

Ireland and the Springboks have not not met since Ireland won 38-3 in 2017 in Dublin, but the South Africans have since gone on to claim a third Rugby World Cup title and a series win over the Lions last summer.

Andy Farrell's side, ranked fourth in the world, begin their autumn campaign at the Aviva Stadium, on Saturday 5 November (kick-off 5.30pm) against South Africa.

It will be the only meeting between the teams before they face one another in the Stade de France at Rugby World Cup 2023.

Ireland will then face Fiji in the second match a week later with a kick-off time of 1pm, while the final match of the series is an 8pm start on Saturday 19 November against the Wallabies.

Vern Cotter's side were also last in Dublin in 2017 when Ireland secured a 23-20 victory.

Fiji qualified for RWC23 by finishing third in their Pool in Japan having pushed both Wales and Australia during that tournament.

Ireland had been due to travel to Fiji in the summer of 2021 but the global pandemic made it impossible to go ahead.

The last fixture between Ireland and Australia was in 2018 as Ireland clinched the three Test series with a 20-16 victory in Sydney.

Tickets for the Autumn Nations Series will go on sale in July following the normal distribution to rugby clubs.

Ireland will play a three-Test tour of New Zealand this July.
