Sportscene pundits in unanimous Rangers penalty verdict as James McPake adamant a corner was correct call
Sportscene pundits Richard Foster and James McPake both agreed that Rangers' first half penalty against Dundee was 'soft'.
The Gers came from a goal down to beat McPake's old side thanks to Connor Goldson's late strike, which keeps Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's side three points behind Celtic in the Premiership title race after a game fuelled with talking points.
However when asked by host Steven Thompson if they thought referee Bobby Madden made the correct decision to award Rangers a penalty for Alfredo Morelos going down in the box, the duo expressed similar views.
Foster replied: "I'm not sure you can call it a challenge.
"To me both players are doing the exact same thing here. The difference is Morelos lets go of the defender maybe a second before the defender lets go of Morelos. So you see he has a hand full of his shirt.

"He doesn't pull him back. He doesn't impede him. They are both at it.
"It's just a 50/50 and should be no penalty for me."
Former Dundee boss McPake also expresses his disbelief at the award and stated a corner should've been given.
He said: "I completely agree. There's a push.
"Both of them are at it, that's what happens in the box and it should have been a corner.
