Sporting CP vs Man City LIVE early team news, predicted lineup and Champions League score predictions

Manchester City are hoping to establish a positive result to take back to the Etihad when they take on Sporting CP in the Champions League last-16 first leg.

City are in Lisbon to take on the Portuguese champions as this year's knockout stages begin this week. Having reached the final last season, City will be hoping to go one better this season, but Pep Guardiola warned about taking each tie in isolation, starting with a tricky test at Sporting.

Guardiola will be without three key players as Kyle Walker is suspended, while Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus did not travel due to injury. Zack Steffen was also missing from the travelling squad, along with the injured Cole Palmer. Youngsters Ciaran Slicker, Luke Mbete, Romeo Lavia, James McAtee, Kayky and Liam Delap were part of a 22-man squad taken to Portugal.

With Walker suspended, Joao Cancelo will likely start, but he and Kevin De Bruyne must be careful as they are both one bookig away from missing the second leg.
