Speedster makes return for the Lions
Boldwin Hansen returns to the Lions' starting line-up as they get set to take on the Bulls in a Currie Cup clash on Wednesday.
There's also a start for loose-forward Lindo Ncusane, who joins Mark Snyman and Cal Smid in the back row.
Hansen, who last played for the Lions in their clash against the Sharks almost a month ago, will bring some strike power to the side out wide.
Lions head coach Mziwakhe Nkosi believes this year’s competition theme has been about providing young players with the opportunity to launch their careers.
“History has shown time and time again that the Currie Cup has earned many players call-ups to international club competitions and national honours,” said Nkosi.
Nkosi believes while the results haven't gone their way, backing the youngsters is a bold move that will add depth to the franchise.
“We’ve consistently backed our youngsters within our system, and this is something we’ve been bold about from the start of our campaign," he added.
He acknowledges, however, that the fixture against the Bulls would be a challenge but that his young side would be up for it.
“We’ll be up for it tomorrow against a very good Bulls side. There are a few guys in the match 23 who’ll be eager to impress and make the most of the opportunity."
Kick-off is at 20:00
