Soyizwapi heaps praise on Blitzboks' 'world-class attitude and effort' after Fiji win

Blitzboks skipper Siviwe Soyizwapi heaped praise on his team-mates after their comfortable 17-7 win against rivals Fiji at the Cape Town Sevens on Saturday.

The hosts made it two from two with their final Pool A encounter against France set for 17:00 on Saturday.

The Blitzboks scored three tries as they produced a clinical performance against Olympic gold medallists, Fiji.

"It wasn't perfect but I think the attitude and effort the boys put in was world-class," Soyizwapi told reporters following the game.

"There's always a big rivalry between ourselves and Fiji. We always knew they were going to bring a war, not just a battle so I think the boys handled the intensity well."

Following their opening Pool A win against Canada (17-7), the Blitzboks were looking to improve on their defence.

"Our defence system looked after us against Fiji and I think there's just small areas where we need to get right, getting off the ground and working harder where it's needed," said Soyizwapi.

"The system is well and has proven itself, not really too worried about it, it's about getting as close to perfect as possible."

The Blitzboks skipper added: "We're looking to improve our game and as I said, in the first two games we showed heart and effort and attitude," said Soyizwapi.

"A small procession that we can focus on in terms of processes, we'll go look back at the video and then come back."
