Southampton 1-2 Man City U18 LIVE highlights and ratings as Sodje and Mebude score to seal U18 Premier League title

Manchester City have added another trophy to their collection tonight with victory in the Under-18 Premier League national final at Southampton.

City, who won the Northern division of the U18 Premier League, visit Southern winners Southampton looking to retain the title they won last season. The academy has already won the Premier League 2 at Under-23 level, the U18 Northern title, as well as cups at Under-17 and Under-16 level. City would become the first club to win back-to-back U23 and U18 national titles in the Premier League if they are triumphant today.

City fell behind early on as Kemani Brown scored for Southampton, but they responded well as Dire Mebude crossed for Tai Sodje to slide home.

Mebude then scored one himself before the break, latching onto a superb long ball from Carlos Borges to keep his cool and finish confidently. The Blues defended well after the break and saw out the final to win 2-1 and seal their second successive U18 National title.
