2nd ODI: Rizwan, Salman guide Pakistan to seven-wicket win over Netherlands

Pakistan captain Babar Azam, the world's top-ranked ODI batsman, scored 57 off 65 balls before Rizwan and Salman led the tourists home in their pursuit of 187 with 16.2 overs to spare. Dutch seamer Vivian Kingma removed openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq cheaply as Pakistan stuttered early, but Azam and Rizwan steadied the innings before Salman finished it off by blasting his first ODI fifty. Zaman, who made 109 in the first ODI, was caught and bowled by Kingma for three and Imam was lured into a loose drive four balls later to reduce Pakistan to 11-2.

Virat Kohli's manager says depression remark being used too loosely

Virat Kohli has experienced challenges of mental health, but has expressed disappointment that his comments over depression are being used too loosely. “The representation of a severe condition like depression is very well understood by Virat. He's spoken openly on the mental challenges of playing the sport at the highest level and he hasn't shied away from admitting them. Having said that, he's mentioned that he's experienced mental challenges at only a certain stage in his career,” Virat's agent Bunty Sajdeh told TOI on Thursday (August 18), when a series of reports emerged over his comments on mental health.

Good to see bowlers putting balls in right areas: KL Rahul

Zimbabwe by restricting the hosts to under 200 in the first ODI here on Thursday. Rahul, himself was making a comeback to international cricket after more than two months but decided to continue with the crack opening pair of Shubman Gill and Shikhar Dhawan, who added 192 runs for an unbroken opening stand. Are you telling me Shikhar Dhawan is not good for T20Is? You can't say that: Mohammad Kaif

The ICC released the Future Tours Programme (FTP) for the 2023-2027 cycle on Wednesday and the numbers show that as many as 777 international matches will be played by the 12 ICC full members. That's 83 matches more than the current cycle (694 matches). As the volume of cricket grows one trend that cannot be questioned anymore is the emergence and now domination of T20 cricket. Take India's schedule alone for the next FTP cycle - 38 Tests, 42 ODIs and as many as 61 T20Is. T20 cricket is not just the future anymore, it's also very much the present. It's no surprise then that the ICC hosts a men's and women's T20 World Cup every two years. To cope with this sheer deluge of cricket these days, teams are of course having to scramble to find enough players to fill squads. For the top teams fielding two squads to play two simultaneous series, while keeping in mind a big multi-nation tournament like the Asia Cup or a Champions Trophy or World Cup, is now a reality. India is one country which has responded to this challenge very well. Only three members of India's 15 member squad (not including Washington Sundar, who was withdrawn due to injury) that is currently playing in Zimbabwe (KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda and Avesh Khan) are also part of the Asia Cup squad.

India vs Zimbabwe, 1st ODI Highlights: Deepak Chahar shines on return as India thump Zimbabwe by 10 wickets

Deepak Chahar made an impressive comeback to international cricket with an incisive spell and openers maintained their consistency as India outclassed Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the opening One Day International, here on Thursday. Donning the blue jersey for the first time in six months after a long injury lay-off, Chahar hit the straps right away with figures of 3/27, which was instrumental in India restricting Zimbabwe to a sub-par 189 in just 40.3 overs. With very little scoreboard pressure, it was a walk in the park for the Indians as the in-form opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan (81 not out) and Shubman Gill (82 not out) knocked off the target in just 30.5 overs.
