Mitchell Starc Criticises T20 World Cup Schedule Structure, Says "Questions Need To Be..."

The T20 World Cup 2024 is headed towards its knockout stage and all eight teams have been confirmed for the Super 8 stage. Australia topped Group B with four wins out of four matches but they were still seeded 'B2" when it comes to the Super 8 due to the tournament's pre-seeding. The Super 8 opponents are somewhat pre-decided in the T20 World Cup 2024 due to the seedings and as a result, the standings after the league stage has no bearing on the fixtures. That is why Australia were 'B2' despite finishing top in their group. Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc was not pleased with the pre-seeding in the competition and he expressed his frustration at the structure while saying that he is "not a fan".

"Team India Is Picked For The T20 World Cup Finals": New Zealand Great

India may have a set bowling combination, but New Zealand great Stephen Fleming feels inclusion of left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav can provide that "extra bit of wicket-taking flair" as the Caribbean wickets are expected to offer turn in the Super 8 stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup. India have so far gone with three pacers -- Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh -- and two spinners -- Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel -- in their playing XI.  "I would think maybe Kuldeep would come in to provide that extra bit of wicket-taking flair if the wickets do provide the turn as they get a little bit more used and you get closer to the end of the tournament," he said during ‘ESPNCricinfo Timeout show'.

Nepal, who were already knocked out from the Super 8s race, now ended their T20 World Cup campaign with a humiliating defeat.

"Don't Waste Time In Pakistan": Harbhajan Singh's Coaching 'Offer' For Gary Kirsten After Alleged Outburst

If the early T20 World Cup exit was not enough, the Pakistan cricket team has been dealt some bigger blows with a viral remark by its coach Gary Kirsten going viral. According to media reports in Pakistan and by news agency PTI, Kirsten, who guided India to ODI World Cup triumph in 2011, pulled no punches in his assessment of the team after being eliminated from the ongoing T20 showpiece. "There's no unity in Pakistan's team. They call it a team, but it isn't a team. They aren't supporting each other; everyone is separated, left and right. I've worked with many teams, but I've never seen such a situation," Kirsten said as per reports quoting a senior scribe.
