Novak Djokovic Withdraws From ATP Montreal Event

World number two Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from next week's ATP Canadian Open tournament in Montreal, Tennis Canada said on Monday. The 24-time Grand Slam champion from Serbia has reached the third round of the Paris Olympics with a victory over Spain's Rafael Nadal. Djokovic, 37, has won 98 career ATP titles but will not compete in the hardcourt tune-up event for the US Open, which begins on August 26. IPL Reunion In England Cricket Team? Report Makes Big Claim On Head Coach Choice

The England cricket team could be preparing an IPL reunion as they aim to shake things up in the coaching department. With reports stating that present white-ball head coach Matthew Mott will depart next week, England are looking to add another star name to their coaching unit. Despite a disappointing 2023 ODI World Cup, and failing to reach the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup, England are reportedly set to stick with Jos Buttler as captain. However, Buttler's boss at Rajasthan Royals, Kumar Sangakkara, is reportedly a candidate for the head coach role.

After Tasting Own Medicine At Non-Striker's End In TNPL, Ravichandran Ashwin's Sharp Retort

A vocal supporter of running the batter out at non-striker's end, veteran India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin was recently on the receiving end of a warning for backing up too far. The incident happened during a Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) match between his team, Dindigul Dragons, and Nellai Royal Kings. In the 15th over, left-arm spinner Mohan Prasath stopped midway through his run-up after noticing that Ashwin was out of his crease. The replays showed that while Ashwin was walking down the crease prematurely, his bat slid out of the popping crease when Prasath stopped mid-way into his run-up.

Simone Biles Chases First Paris Olympic Gold, Triathlon Postponed

Simone Biles is tipped to win her first Olympic gymnastics gold since 2016 on Tuesday, while Paris organisers postponed the men's triathlon by a day over pollution in the Seine just hours before it was due to start. America's Biles appears to be back at the peak of her powers as she leads the United States on what has been billed as a redemption mission in the women's team final. The 27-year-old, considered the greatest gymnast of all time, won four gold medals at the Rio 2016 Games.

Japan Footballer Kaishu Sano Released After Sexual Assault Arrest

Japan footballer Kaishu Sano has been released more than two weeks after being arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman, his management company said. "I Am Open Minded But Olympics Opening Ceremony A Disgrace": Donald Trump

Former US president Donald Trump has criticised the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Paris, calling it a "disgrace", amidst outrage over a scene which critics say parodied Leonardo da Vinci's acclaimed painting "The Last Supper." “I thought that the opening ceremony was a disgrace, actually. I thought it was a disgrace," Trump, the Republican Party's presidential candidate for the November 5 general elections, told 'The Ingraham Angle' on Fox News on Monday night.

Man Behind Manu Bhaker's Olympic Success With Whom She Had Massive Fallout

Former pistol great Jaspal Rana's obsession and single-minded dedication to the sport has been his hallmark all along his entire journey from the time he emerged on the scene as a precocious talent, annihilating junior records and winning a bagful of international medals. But the one piece of metal that was missing from his trophy cabinet was an Olympic medal.
