Sunil Gavaskar Left Stunned By India Star's Reverse Scoop Against Australia: "Fearlessness..."

Legendary Indian cricket team batter Sunil Gavaskar was left stunned by Nitish Reddy's reverse scoop during Day 1 of the pink-ball Test against Australia in Adelaide on Friday. In the 42nd over of the Indian innings, Scott Boland bowled a length delivery just outside the off-stump and Nitish decided to try out an unorthodox approach against the ball. He assumed the stance quite quickly and scooped the ball over the slip fielders for a six. It was one of the longest parts of the ground and the shot even left Jasprit Bumrah amused on the non-striker end. During an analysis on Star Sports, Gavaskar was all praise for the youngster and said that his approach shows the "fearlessness of youth" even in Test cricket.

South Africa vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test Day 3, Live Updates: Sri Lanka will be resuming the third day of the ongoing second Test against South Africa from 242/3 in Gqeberha. Earlier, Pathum Nissanka made 89 to lead a strong Sri Lankan batting effort on the second day of the second Test. Opening batsman Nissanka seemed set for his third Test century before he charged down the wicket against left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj, missed an attempted big hit and was bowled. Until then, Nissanka's only blemish was a missed chance to David Bedingham at first slip off Kagiso Rabada when the batsman had 22. Nissanka faced 157 balls and hit 11 fours and a six. (Live Scorecard)

"Maybe He Didn't Have Talent In...": Rahul Dravid's Old Assessment Of Vinod Kambli Resurfaces

After a video of Vinod Kambli's recent public appearance came to the fore, an old clip of Rahul Dravid sharing his views on the definition of 'talent', while mentioning Vinod Kambli's name, has resurfaced on social media. Kambli, a childhood friend of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, was one of the most-talked about cricketers when he arrived at the scene, but he failed to maintain the stature. Despite playing 104 ODIs and 17 Tests for India after making his debut in 1991, Kambli's international career could not last even a decade.

Watch: Mohammed Siraj Throws Ball In Anger After Australia Batter's Bizarre Action During Pink Ball Test

Mohammed Siraj failed to hold his emotions during an incident on Day 1 of the ongoing Test match between India and Australia at Adelaide Oval. It took place while the right-arm pacer was bowling the 25th over of the Australian innings. Just before the penultimate ball of the over could be bowled, Marnus Labuschagne pulled out of his stance after a distraction in front of the sight screen. A fan was going across the sight screen with a beer snake in his hand. Distracted by it, Labuschagne got away from his stance right before Siraj, who was already on his run-up, could bowl the delivery.

"BCCI Always...": World Cup Winner's Unabashed View On India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy Row

Former all-rounder Yusuf Pathan, member of India's 2011 World Cup and 2007 T20 World Cup-winning teams, backed the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) decision of not sending the Indian team to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy next year. India has held its stance firm on not sending the team across the border for the marquee event which will be held in the early months of next year. Yusuf welcomed the decision and lavished praise on the Indian cricket board for thinking about the safety and the interest of its players. "BCCI always thinks about the players and their safety. So whatever BCCI does is in the interest of the players and the nation," Pathan told ANI. While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was adamant about hosting the entire tournament in Pakistan, the recent developments have suggested that the stalemate has been broken.

Inter Milan Beat Parma To Close In On Serie A Leaders Napoli

Inter Milan moved a point behind Serie A leaders Napoli on Friday after seeing off Parma 3-1 at the San Siro ahead of a key Champions League clash at Bayer Leverkusen. Brilliantly taken goals either side of half-time from Italian internationals Federico Dimarco and Nicolo Barella and Marcus Thuram's neat volley in the 67th minute were enough for the reigning champions to close in on Napoli. Simone Inzaghi's Inter are also level on 31 points with second-placed Atalanta, who could claim the provisional league lead with a win over AC Milan later on Friday.

Paris Saint-Germain Held Again In Draw With Auxerre

Paris Saint-Germain were denied by a combination of good goalkeeping and poor finishing as the Ligue 1 leaders were held to a 0-0 draw at Auxerre on Friday ahead of a crucial match in their Champions League campaign. It was a second successive domestic draw for PSG off the back of a damaging 1-0 defeat away to Bayern Munich in European competition at the end of last month. Luis Enrique's team remain unbeaten in Ligue 1 and are now eight points clear of their nearest challengers, although Monaco and Marseille will each have the opportunity to cut that gap to five points over the course of the weekend.

Sunil Gavaskar's Big Advice To India Bowlers In 2nd Australia Test: "Haven't Used..."

Batting great Sunil Gavaskar has expressed his disappointment with the Indian bowlers' lack of success with the pink ball on the opening day of the second Test against Australia, saying they ought to have done better. Australia were comfortably placed at 86 for one at stumps after bowling out India for 180 in their first innings, thanks to pacer Mitchell Starc's six-wicket haul. Speaking on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, "They have to make the batters play as much as they can. And this is what happens when you make the batters play as much as you can."
