‘Sources told me...’ - Journalist claims Liverpool are now in significant in-house ‘talks’

Liverpool are in talks over signing a huge £80m-per-year kit sponsorship deal to replace Standard Chartered, according to journalist Alex Miller.

The Reds’ current deal with Standard Chartered will expire at the end of next season, with the financial services company having sponsored them during a hugely successful period under Jurgen Klopp.

There is a feeling that Liverpool are ready to go to the next level, though, earning significantly more than the current £40m per year which comes their way.

A fresh update has now emerged regarding a prospective new kit deal.

Taking to Twitter in sharing a corresponding article for The Mail on Sunday, Miller claimed that Liverpool are looking to agree the biggest kit contract in the club’s history, stating:

“#LFC are in talks to secure a record £80m-a-year shirt sponsorship deal, sources told me this week.”

It is reported that the Reds are in conversation with ‘a number of companies in financial services, travel and tourism, consumer electronics, fast-moving consumer goods, media and cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain.’

This is perfect proof of the force that Liverpool have become under Klopp, with the German turning them into arguably the most appealing club in European football right now.

Not only are they excelling on the pitch, still challenging for a quadruple in May, but FSG are also running the club in shrewd fashion, as highlighted by this update.

A big-money contract would potentially generate more funds for transfers and other important affairs at the club, allowing Liverpool to continue going from strength to strength in the years ahead.

In other news, a journalist has dropped a promising Liverpool transfer claim. Read more here.
