Sources: Bills, C Connor McGovern reach 4-year, $52M deal - ESPN

The Buffalo Bills and center Connor McGovern have reached agreement on a four-year, $52 million deal, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The deal includes $32 million guaranteed and keeps the veteran starter off the free agent market.

McGovern, 28, spent the last three seasons with the Bills, including the last two as Josh Allen's starting center after transitioning from left guard.

In 2025, McGovern was fifth in the NFL pass block win rate (97.2%) and had six sacks attributed to him, per TruMedia.

Both McGovern and the Bills expressed interest in his return, but also understood it would be difficult given the market and his free agency situation. The Bills, however, prioritized keep the team's center and signed him to a long-term deal just before free agency began and amidst a number of teams looking for help at the position. The move gives the Bills consistency along the offensive line with four of five starters now locked in to return outside of upcoming free agent left guard David Edwards.

The durable McGovern has played in at least 14 games every season of his six-year career. He was selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft out of Penn State, but missed his rookie season due to a pectoral injury. Overall, injuries kept him to just 29 starts in three years in Dallas, where he spent time at right and left guard.

ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg contributed to his report.
