"Source close to Man Utd..." - Romano drops huge update that will leave fans gutted - opinion

Manchester United have had a rollercoaster of a season with their long term manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, sacked after three years in November, and ongoing poor performances plaguing their campaign.

The side crashed out of both domestic competitions, are struggling for a top-four finish and only have the Champions League left to hope for. However, now there could be another big hit to the club.

Popular transfer insider, Fabrizio Romano, tweeted this morning that Marcus Rashford is considering his future at his boyhood club, Manchester United.

Romano wrote to his 7 million followers:

“Marcus Rashford is considering his future. He’s concerned about his lack of game time, source close to Man Utd forward tell me – he’s always been professional but he wants clarity. #MUFC”

“His current Manchester United deal runs out in June 2023.”

There is no doubt fans will be gutted to see that one of their own is considering a change of direction in his career after coming through the academy and becoming one of the standout players for the club, on and off the pitch.

He is a natural goal scorer and his charity off the pitch has become a symbol for all young footballers throughout the country to aspire to.

However, there are clearly a number of issues at Old Trafford that need to be ironed out, and with a new manager coming in the summer, it may be the perfect time for the 24-year-old to part ways and find a new challenge somewhere he can be guaranteed first-team football without the pressures that come with being at United right now.
