Sophie Ellis-Bextor to headline Manchester's 'fundraising ball of the year'

Stars of stage and screen will unite for one of Manchester's biggest fundraising balls this November. The annual Michael Josephson MBE Ball will this year feature a headline performance from chart-topping star Sophie Ellis-Bextor, as well as star guests and surprise moments.

The ball has raised a massive £2mn for children's charities over the past five years. Philanthropist Michael created the ball as he is determined to help disadavantaged young people after overcoming adversity and a traumatic childhood himself.

Last year the event raised a staggering £760,000 in one night - attended by the likes of Stephanie Beacham, Christopher Biggins, Heather Small and Paul Scholes.

Internationally acclaimed artist Mr Brainwash became involved with the fundraiser in 2022, when one of his pieces fetched an eye-watering £100,000 at auction on the night. Inspired by the event and the force for good behind it, Mr Brainwash has created a special piece to auction off at this year’s ball.

The piece – which will remain tightly under
