West Ham United have not been reluctant when it comes to cashing in on some of their players over the past few years such as Sebastien Haller, Marko Arnautovic, Andre Ayew and Dimitri Payet among others.

However, one player whose exit from the east London club caused a significant amount of uproar was Grady Diangana, whose permanent transfer move to West Bromwich Albion for a reported fee of £20m back in September 2020 led to Mark Noble sharing how “gutted, angry and sad” he was at his club for letting the winger leave.

As a product of West Ham’s youth system, the attacker racked up 82 appearances in total for the Hammers’ U23 and senior sides, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists before joining the Baggies on a loan deal in August 2019.

During the 2019/20 campaign, the Englishman impressed on his loan spell by scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in 30 Championship appearances that ultimately saw the Midlands club get promoted to the Premier League under the management of former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic.

However, since becoming a permanent West Brom player, things haven’t been quite so positive for Diangana, who is currently picking up a weekly wage of £25k-per-week according to Salary Sport.

In 55 appearances for Steve Bruce’s side since the start of last season across all competitions, the 23-year-old has only found the back of the net on four occasions with just one assist to his name as well.

In addition to his lack of regular goal contributions, the winger’s performances in the Championship this season haven’t been much to shout about either, with WhoScored listing him as the lowest-rated outfield player currently in West Brom’s squad to have started more than one league game with an overall
