Sligo Rovers vs Motherwell to be televised as Premier Sports snap up Europa Conference league tie
Motherwell's UEFA Europa Conference League second leg tie against Sligo Rovers will be televised live in the UK, Premier Sports have confirmed. The game takes place at The Showgrounds Sligo on Thursday July 28 with a 7pm kick off.
The pair will face off a week before at Fir Park with the winner of the two legged tie set to take on Czech Republic's Sparta Prague or Norway's Viking in the third round on August 4 and 11. Motherwell will begin their Scottish Premiership campaign away to St Mirren just three days after visiting Sligo.
Graham Alexander's side qualified for the UEFA's third competition having finished fifth in the Premiership last season making it their second time in Europe in three seasons. During their last appearance they were knocked out of the Europa League third qualifying round by Hapoel Beer-Sheva in 2020.
And Sligo Rovers progressed to the second round having beat Bala Town from Wales 4-3 on penalties at the Showgrounds after the tie finished 2-2 on aggregate.
Motherwell 's chief executive Alan Burrows has revealed the Steelmen will only receive 300 tickets for the clash and updated fans on how they will be allocated. He tweeted: "Sligo have told us we will get around 300 tickets for the match at the Showgrounds on 28 July.
“We will contact those 22/23 season ticket holders randomly picked in the ballot from tomorrow onwards to arrange payment / distribution etc."
