Sligo GAA in mourning following death of Red Óg Murphy
The Sligo GAA community has been plunged into mourning following the death of Curry footballer Red Óg Murphy.
The DCU student, who was named on the Sigerson Team of the Year earlier this month, returned from an AFL stint at North Melbourne in late 2019 after eight months with the club.
He went on to feature in all 12 of Sligo's league and championship games throughout 2020 and 2021, scoring 1-15.
He had opted out of Tony McEntee's panel this year to concentrate on club action and his studies in Dublin.
The 21-year-old, a past pupil of St Attracta’s in Tubbercurry, was studying to be a teacher.
