Slavia Prague hit with fresh racism allegations as shameful Rangers incident rears its head again

Slavia Prague are embroiled in a repeat of the shameful Glen Kamara racism saga after being accused of a fresh incident by Anderlecht.

But they've denied any wrongdoing, just as they did when Ondrej Kudela was found to have launched vile slurs towards the Rangers star in 2021. Belgian side Anderlecht have reported the Czech club to UEFA after Mathias Zanka Jorgensen complained he was twice racially abused by Tomas Chory in their Europa League match, which Anderlecht won 2-1.

Anderlecht said in a statement: "During the Europa League match against Slavia Prague, Mathias Zanka Jorgensen was the victim of racist abuse by a Slavia Prague player. The incident was immediately reported to the referee on the pitch and was included in the UEFA Match Delegate's report.

"We strongly condemn these events and stand behind our defender. The club will enter into further discussions with UEFA to closely monitor this matter."

Chory has denied the allegations and has been backed by his club, who have vowed to defend their player...just as they did after the Europa League clash at Ibrox. Back in 2021, Czech international defender Kudela was eventually hit with a ten-match ban and missed the European Championships, where some of their matches were played in Glasgow and was even reported to the Procurator Fiscal before proceedings were dropped. Kudela, who now plays in Indonesia, racially abused Kamara, now at Rennes. The Finnish international then attacked the defender himself in the Ibrox tunnel and was handed a three-match ban.

On the latest incident, a Slavia statement said: "The club is certain that our player has not made any racist statements. We have condemned racism for a long time and it is unacceptable to us.
