Six Nations: Wales' Josh Adams’ beautiful moment with Italy’s Ange Capuozzo
There was a beautiful moment involving Wales wing Josh Adams and Italy’s Ange Capuozzo in the aftermath of Saturday’s Six nations clash.
Wales were left stunned by the Italians, who sealed their first Six Nations victory since 2015 with a last-gasp 22-21 win at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Italy, who had lost their previous 36 Six Nations fixtures, won the match at the death thanks to Paolo Garbisi’s conversion with the final kick of the game after Edoardo Padovani has scored a dramatic late try.
Adams had already been named Man of the Match before Italy’s stunning late comeback but the 26-year-old showed incredible sportsmanship by offering his medal to Capuozzo, whose sprint led to Italy’s decisive try.
“We heard Jonathan Davies got Josh Adams Man of the Match, just moments before Capuozzo’s incredible break, and look at this beautiful moment where Adams gives it to Capuozzo,” BBC Sport’s Gabby Logan said. “He receives that looking very emotional at the presentation of that to him.
“I’m sure Jonathan Davies would endorse that as well if he could change his decision.”
