Six Manchester United youngsters who could make their debuts vs Wigan Athletic

Forson is perhaps the most likely to get the chance to make his competitive debut having been a part of the main pre-season tour squad. He made three starts and played a total of 271 minutes over the summer.

The 19-year-old has made the Champions League matchday squad twice this season but is yet to get his maiden outing. Seven goals in eight academy games - including three in four Premier League 2 matches - shows he is on the right trajectory.

Hugill could get a few minutes having also played a role for Ten Hag in early pre-season. His goal against Leeds in the first friendly will have given him confidence, as will his call-up to the main squad after Anthony Elanga’s departure.
