Six fire engines called to blaze at industrial estate in Bolton

Six fire engines were called to the scene of a blaze at an industrial estate in Bolton this morning.

Just after 4.15am this morning (February 8), fire crews were called to reports of a fire at a commercial building on Manchester Road in Burnden.

Fire engines from Bolton, Bolton North, Farnworth and Whitefield stations all attended.

As of 11am this morning, crews remain at the scene.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said the fire involved an industrial unit at Pilot Industrial Estate which was alight upon their arrival.

A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “Just after 4.15am on Tuesday 8 February, fire crews were called to reports of a fire at a commercial building on Manchester Road, Bolton.

“Six fire engines from Bolton, Bolton North, Farnworth and Whitefield stations, alongside an aerial appliance from Stretford, quickly attended the incident.

“The fire involved an industrial unit which was well alight upon fire crews’ arrival.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two jets, two hose reels and ladders to extinguish the fire.

“GMFRS crews remain in attendance.”
