Siriki Dembele hints at Scotland wildcard shot as new Bournemouth hero references Glasgow roots

Bournemouth goal hero Siriki Dembele says he'll know when the time comes to decide on his international future.

And with his family still residing in Glasgow, he's refused to close the door on playing for Scotland one day.

Brother of Celtic winger Karamoko, Siriki made the step up from Peterborough to Bournemouth in January.

He was handed his first start against Blackpool and made himself an immediate hero with a dramatic stoppage time winner that kept their title hopes just about alive.

Eligible to play for Scotland, England and the Ivory Coast, the 25-year-old has kept his options open and could be called up by Steve Clarke in March if he catches the eye.

Speaking to the English media, Dembele - a teammate of Scotland star Ryan Christie's on the south coast - said: “If I’m honest, I have Ivory Coast in mind but the truth is I haven’t made the final decision on which one I would pick.

“When the time comes, I’ll know.

My family moved from Ivory Coast to London, not for footballing reasons at all.

"This was just my parents’ decision, not mine. Then we moved to Glasgow and we’ve been living in Glasgow ever since.”
